Meditation Basics

with Nanda Nina Lynch

Friday, July 10th

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm ET (New York)

Online

Curious about Zen, meditation, or Shining Bright Lotus Meditation Society? This one-hour introduction offers a simple, down-to-earth entry into our practice and community.

I initially found sitting meditation very difficult. It wasn’t until I experimented with movement-based practices—followed by sitting—that stillness became more accessible.
— Nanda

In this class, we will explore the same question together: what helps us in our meditation practice? We will begin with simple movement and then sit in meditation, followed by time for reflection, questions, and sharing about what works for each of us.

This is an open exploration rather than a fixed method.

This session is open to newcomers as well as those who want a refresher. No prior experience is needed. Offered four times a year, this session is part of the Cosmopolitan Zen Basics program that introduces a variety of themes commonly explored at Shining Bright Lotus..

Cosmopolitan Zen Basics is open to anyone.

There is no fee for this event.‍ ‍A donation is requested.‍ ‍
