Abiding in Shamatha

Each morning our retreats move through a sequence of practice rooted in the Hollow Bones Zen tradition. Formal entrance followed by the HBZ Morning Service, Kinhin, meditation, Qi Gong and a Dharma reflection. Led by Ekai Joel Keisberg and featuring a reflection by Emyo Darlene Tataryn, you are invited to join us for the first two hours of our Saturday practice period on our four day retreat. .

This event is open to anyone.

There is no fee to attend.

Ekai Joel Kreisberg Roshi

Ekai continues to evolve his practice to incorporate a variety of Buddhist wisdom in his teachings. His commitment to compassionate action keeps offering endless opportunity for learning and growth. Ekai Roshi has 15 years of experience teaching meditation. He continues to teach both online and in person.

About Emyo Darlene Tataryn

Darlene Tataryn, PhD in Expressive Therapy, is a Canadian educator, therapist, and founder of One Wisdom. She has bridged Buddhist meditative traditions—including Theravada, Vajrayana (Karma Kagyu), Zen (ordained as Priest Emyo Seien in 2014), and Culadasa-certified teaching in The Mind Illuminated—with somatic and emotional healing through expressive arts. Recognized as an Elder in Expressive Therapy in 2017, she has integrated these disciplines into her counseling practice, retreats, and innovative movement practices like Maitreya's Chair (contemplative seated movement) and The Lotus Series (Asaya Yoga for developmental/neurological patterning and expression). Prior to retirement, and with over 35 years of practice, teaching, and counseling experience, Darlene has supported individuals and communities in resolving trauma, experiencing emotional and somatic liberation, and awakening to their spiritual potential.
