When the Buddha Needs Therapy - Fall Practice Period 2025
Why there are no victims
Dharma Talk by Kenshin Cian Whalley
Saturday, November 15th
10:00 am - 12:00 pm ET (New York)
Online
Your angst is your liberation is a deep principle of Jun Po Roshi’s Zen. There is no denial of hurt or pain in this instruction, rather, it’s pointing to the opportunity that is always present, even in the most painful experiences. The opportunity occurs whenever you find yourself emotionally triggered. This is precisely the moment to remember and choose the wisdom of Zen - everything is impermanent, everything is dependently arising and the self is expressing a natural wisdom. Remember, and choose a compassionate response.
Kenshin Cian Whalley takes up this key perspective in his dharma reflection about the illusion of the victim. A lively discussion will follow. After a short break, you are invited to our weekly morning service and zazen practice.
The Fall Practice Period is open to anyone.
There is no fee for this event. A donation is requested.
