In traditional Asian Buddhist cultures, the identity of a person is formed within a web of many relationships: with one’s family, familial and spiritual ancestors, the larger community, and with the natural landscape and environment. Within this web of relational support, a meditator’s orientation to contemplative practice is supported by the communities in which the person is embedded.

About Ekai Joel Kreisberg

Ekai continues to evolve his practice to incorporate a variety of Buddhist wisdom in his teachings. His commitment to compassionate action keeps offering endless opportunties for learning and growth.

Although many people in our modern, secularized world have rejected religious ways of thinking or have lost touch
with spiritual resources previously available in their religious traditions, they search for a deeper grounding for living and serving that only spiritual disciplines can provide.
